About the Role

Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) is a leading provider of high-hazard experimentation and incident response capabilities. We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Devises solutions to complex technical problems, resolving conflicting customer expectations and design requirements.
  • Coordinates complex projects, focusing on interdisciplinary coordination and team management.
  • Interprets and adapts guidelines for operation of facilities, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Evaluates processes and procedures to improve performance, identifying areas for optimization.
  • Prepares work statements for complex subcontracts and procurements, evaluating bids and making recommendations.
  • Provides expertise on operational goals of explosives experiments, gas-gun and powder-gun facilities.
  • Serves as a consultant to less experienced engineers, providing practical advice on mechanical design, fabrication, and performance.
  • Defines customer needs and develops technical proposals for research and development in dynamic experiments.
  • Conducts or leads research for internal and external customers, developing new instrumentation, equipment, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
  • At least 9 years of relevant experience, with a strong background in mechanical engineering and a proven track record of delivering complex projects.
  • Professional Engineer license or other certification, as required by the position.
  • Membership in discipline organizations, such as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), may be required.
What We Offer

MSTS offers a competitive salary range of $121,000 to $185,224.00, depending on experience and qualifications. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a pension, and a 401(k) plan.
