About the Role

MU Health Care is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Technologist to join our team in the Operating Room at University Hospital. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our OR operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment in the operating rooms.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, staff members, and physicians to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Participate in the teaching and mentoring of newly hired technologists and student technologists.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to maintain OR schedules, manage inventories, and drive continuous process improvement.
Requirements
  • One (1) year of experience as a surgical technologist.
  • Completion of an accredited surgical tech program, the MU Health Care Surgical Tech program, or military training may be substituted.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), or equivalent.
