Position Overview

We are currently in search of a Vulnerability Management Support Engineer to bolster our Federal division.

Work Arrangement

This is a full-time role, operating in a hybrid model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the formulation and upkeep of security policies and standards, ensuring adherence across the organization.
  • Support the strategizing and deployment of Vulnerability Management Tools for the identification and monitoring of security weaknesses.
  • Oversee the availability of system updates and aid in their implementation on security platforms.
  • Contribute to investigations of security incidents, gather Incident Response data, and compile report findings.
  • Evaluate processes and technologies to guarantee comprehensive protection against unauthorized access and data breaches.
  • Maintain current knowledge in areas such as malware, intrusion detection, encryption technologies, and firewalls.
  • Configure agency-specific Vulnerability Management tools.
  • Generate, analyze, and report on existing vulnerabilities while proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor resources such as US-Cert and SANS for emerging vulnerabilities impacting IT security.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in securing various operating systems including Cisco, ESXi, Linux, Solaris, and Windows in accordance with established policy guidelines.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as regex, bash, PowerShell, and VBScript.
  • Ability to interpret events and produce analytical reports based on data from vulnerability tools.
  • Strong understanding of contemporary threats and tactics employed in system attacks.
  • Experience in providing similar services to diverse clients.
  • Prior experience with MS SQL Server.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of vulnerability management tools and methodologies, including Tenable Nessus, Qualys WAS, Nexpose, and Burp Suite Pro.
  • A keen desire to learn and the capability to translate evolving threats into practical recommendations.
  • Ability to identify and escalate risks, issues, and concerns as necessary.

Education

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related IT field is required.

Clearance / Suitability

Ability to obtain a clearance or Public Trust is preferred; however, all clearance levels and non-cleared applicants will also be considered.

Certifications

We aim to cultivate a technologically diverse team. While there is no fixed list of certifications, we recommend reviewing the DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certifications as a guideline. Preferred certifications for roles in our federal delivery services include: Security+, CEH, CISA, CISSP, CISM, or other recognized industry certifications.

Experience

  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of demonstrated experience in implementing, configuring, and maintaining vulnerability management tools within an enterprise setting.
