Job Title: Nurse II

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse II to join our team at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. As a Nurse II, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our Perioperative Care Unit.

Job Summary:

The Nurse II will be responsible for planning, providing, and supervising nursing interventions for individuals with cancer and cancer-related health care problems. This includes diagnosing and treating human responses to actual or potential health problems through patient care, health teaching, and health counseling. The Nurse II will also execute medical regimens prescribed by a physician, dentist, or other licensed healthcare provider and supervise Nurse I's, Licensed Practical Nurses, Hospital Clinical Assistants, and Clinical Support Assistants.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, provide, and supervise nursing interventions for individuals with cancer and cancer-related health care problems.
  • Diagnose and treat human responses to actual or potential health problems through patient care, health teaching, and health counseling.
  • Execute medical regimens prescribed by a physician, dentist, or other licensed healthcare provider.
  • Supervise Nurse I's, Licensed Practical Nurses, Hospital Clinical Assistants, and Clinical Support Assistants.
  • Perform administrative tasks with assigned area of responsibility.
  • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meetings, and workshops.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • The equivalent of one (1) year of full-time oncology nursing experience, or one (1) year of full-time critical care experience, or two (2) years of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting.
  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
Working Conditions:

The Nurse II will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with variable hours and temporary appointments. This is a non-benefit earning title.

Salary:

The pay range for this position is $43.56-$51.40 hourly.
