Pain Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Pain Management Specialist to join our team at Summit Surgical. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care tailored to individuals experiencing pain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including medical history review, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, evidence-based practices, and clinical guidelines.
  • Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapies within scope of practice and in accordance with state regulations.
  • Provide patient education on health promotion, disease prevention, medication management, and self-care strategies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate patient care, facilitate referrals, and ensure continuity of care.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and thoroughly in electronic medical records, adhering to regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research projects, and professional development activities to enhance clinical practice and patient outcomes.
  • Maintain current knowledge of advances in nursing practice, pharmacology, and healthcare technology through ongoing education and training.

Requirements:

  • Current Nurse Practitioner license in Kansas, or eligibility for licensure.
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited Nurse Practitioner program and board certification (e.g., AANP or ANCC).
  • Experience in autonomous patient care with a focus on bone health and fracture prevention.
  • Strong commitment to patient advocacy, quality healthcare, and effective communication.

Working Conditions:

This position works in varied environments, including medical offices, clinical rehabilitation areas, acute care facilities, and outdoor settings. Potential exposure to hazardous substances, blood, and bodily fluids exists. Constant interaction with coworkers, patients, vendors, and the general public may involve individuals who are angry, upset, or ill.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires primarily an action-oriented environment, involving walking, bending, stooping, crawling, squatting, and lifting up to 75 pounds. At times, lifting up to 100 pounds may be necessary. Long periods of sitting or standing may occur. Visual acuity and manual dexterity are required to interact with computers and other facility operating systems. Auditory acuity is necessary to effectively interact with patients and the public.

Work Schedule:

A varied schedule based on departmental needs applies to this position.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
