Key Responsibilities:

At Geosyntec, collaboration and mentorship are integral to our culture. You may also be responsible for project management, staff development, and mentoring.

Some of the primary duties include:

  • Designing civil and landfill projects, including vapor mitigation and site layouts;
  • Conducting geotechnical analyses such as slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, seismic assessments, and seepage evaluations;
  • Performing geotechnical and environmental site assessments;
  • Managing instrumentation monitoring systems;
  • Overseeing small project management tasks and supporting proposal preparations;
  • Drafting engineering reports, design calculations, technical specifications, and permit applications;
  • Engaging in fieldwork related to design and construction services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related discipline (required);
  • Advanced degree in earth science, environmental engineering, or a related field (preferred);
  • Professional registration (e.g., P.E., P.G.) (required).

Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a consulting environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience (required);
  • Proficiency in geotechnical engineering software (e.g., slope stability) (required);
  • Familiarity with numerical modeling tools (preferred);
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic consulting environment, managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and traveling as necessary (required);
  • Strong writing and communication skills (required);
  • Fieldwork and overnight travel may be necessary;
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers (preferred);
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required;
  • A valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required).
