Position Overview:
The selected candidate will take on a pivotal role in overseeing complex design and planning tasks across multiple projects. This position entails leading a team, ensuring the quality of work, and managing project deliverables effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as the primary Project Manager for medium to large-scale projects.
2. Supervise and direct highway and traffic engineering design activities, including coordination with subconsultants.
3. Execute intricate design functions, such as preliminary and final design, engineering calculations, specifications, and report preparation.
4. Monitor project performance in terms of quality, timelines, and budget adherence.
5. Prepare contract documents and plans using approved design software.
Leadership and Development:
Assist in mentoring team members, enhancing their technical skills and project knowledge. Stay updated with the latest advancements in design technology and construction practices.
Client Engagement:
Serve as the main communication link with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded. Manage project budgets and prepare forecasts, while overseeing the development of technical proposals.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
Maintain high standards of performance and inspection, ensuring compliance with established regulatory guidelines. Conduct post-project reviews to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Engineering or a related field; a Master's Degree is preferred.
- At least 15 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 10 years in highway/traffic/water resource design.
- Professional Engineer License in good standing or the ability to obtain one within six months of employment.
- Proficient in relevant design software, including Bentley MicroStation CADD, Autodesk AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
