Faculty Position in Writing Studies

The Department of Writing Studies at the University of Miami invites applications for up to two faculty positions as Assistant Professor of Practice, to begin in the near future. We seek colleagues whose research focuses on pedagogy, program assessment, and teaching and learning in rhetoric, writing, and/or design.
Responsibilities- Teach courses in writing and rhetoric, including first-year writing, professional writing, and leadership and innovation.
- Develop and maintain a research agenda that focuses on teaching and learning in the context of writing studies.
- Contribute to the development of the Department of Writing Studies, including curriculum design and program assessment.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Department of Writing Studies and across the University of Miami to advance the mission of the institution.
- Ph.D. in Writing and Rhetoric, Technical and Professional Communication, Composition, or closely related field.
- A research agenda that focuses on teaching and learning in the context of writing studies.
- Evidence of equitable and inclusive teaching excellence at the college level, especially with diverse student populations.
- A developing scholarly record, including peer-reviewed presentations and publications.
