Public Health LPN Job Description

As a Public Health LPN with the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will play a vital role in protecting the lives of Georgian residents. Our team is dedicated to making a professional impact and promoting healthy lifestyles in diverse communities statewide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide medical assistance to public health nurses and county programs
  • Administer medication, give injections, and provide medical treatments
  • Process patient medical intake for various programs, including Family Planning, Women's Health, and Immunizations
  • Collect, process, and package specimens for laboratory testing
  • Maintain a clean and functional laboratory space and ensure compliance with CLIA regulations
  • Participate in public health events, emergency exercises, and drills
Requirements:
  • Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college
  • Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • CPR certification
  • Completion of all necessary orientation and training for a Public Health LPN
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
