At Open Door Community Health Centers, we are dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare services to our community. We are seeking a Medical Assistant Float to join our team.

Job Summary

The Medical Assistant Float will provide clinical support to our healthcare team, assisting with patient care, administrative tasks, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. This is a dynamic and fast-paced role that requires strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional patient care and support to patients and families
  • Assist with patient intake, vital signs, and medical histories
  • Prepare patients for exams and procedures
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and managing medical records
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, including exam rooms and common areas
  • Assist with minor procedures and treatments
  • Administer medications and immunizations as directed by licensed staff
  • Stock and clean exam rooms, and dispose of bio-hazardous waste
  • Follow standard practices of medical asepsis and infection control
  • Float to other clinics as needed to provide coverage and support
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of accredited Medical Assistant training program or equivalent experience
  • State or national certification as a Medical Assistant (optional)
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of electronic medical records
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
