Compensation Overview:

The anticipated base compensation rate is approximately $30.10 per hour, contingent upon qualifications and experience.

  • 12-hour shifts at Huntington Health are compensated based on overtime (not a straight time rate for the entire shift). Consequently, employees working a complete 12-hour shift will receive their base pay for 8 hours and overtime (1.5) for hours worked beyond that.

Role Expectations:


Delivers direct patient care services on a patient-focused care unit as outlined by the patient's care plan and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

This role may necessitate flexible working hours.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency is required.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:


A minimum of one year of previous experience in clinical patient care within an acute care environment (Current CNA certification may fulfill the one-year experience requirement).



  • For Emergency Services:
EMT certification is preferred.

  • For Women's Services: Experience in OB equivalent, Couplet Care is preferred.
  • For Behavioral Services: At least one year of experience in an acute behavioral health setting is preferred.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with computerized documentation systems are preferred. Knowledge and experience with medical terminology are essential.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

Mandatory:
Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Must possess a working knowledge of departmental equipment necessary for the safe and effective execution of duties.
Ability to multi-task as required and communicate effectively and promptly with team leads/RNs is essential.
Must complete and maintain competency in skills required by the specific department/unit.
Must be capable of performing in a dynamic and fluctuating environment.
Where applicable, performs cardiac surgery preparation in accordance with infection prevention standards.
Where applicable, ensures monitoring devices are managed according to policy and infection prevention standards, including cardiac/telemetry and infant security.

When applicable, under the guidance of the RN, contributes to mobility objectives, safe patient handling, and the use of lift/mobility equipment.
Where applicable, adheres to clinical pathways or additional requirements for specific patient populations, including Trauma, Stroke, Bariatric, Orthopedic, and Oncology.

For Emergency Services:
When directed by nursing or physician leaders, performs 12-lead ECGs in accordance with cardiology standards.
For the care of the Behavioral Health population: maintains the safety of self and the environment to ensure patient safety.
