Job Overview

Hotel Equities, a renowned hotel development and hospitality management company, is seeking a diligent Housekeeper for the Springhill Suites in Portage & MI. This role involves ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of guest rooms and public areas to guarantee exceptional guest satisfaction and maximize revenues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and prepare guest rooms and public areas according to established standards of cleanliness and propriety.
  • Maintain a clean and organized cleaning cart with supplies, replenishing as necessary.
  • Clean windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures in rooms, public areas, and hallways.
  • Wash shower walls and tubs, clean toilets and stall walls (if applicable), wipe exposed pipes, clean mirrors, sinks, and walls to maintain sanitary guest and public restrooms.
  • Replace towels, soaps, and room amenities, and restock literature removed by previous guests or damaged items.
  • Wash hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt and stains.
  • Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and wall hangings.
  • Strip beds of linen and remake them with fresh linens, checking bedspreads, blankets, and bed pads for cleanliness.
  • Check closets for cleanliness, wiping door handles, shelves, and restocking guest room supplies.
  • Vacuum rooms, public areas, and hallways, operating vacuums weighing up to 25lbs.
  • Inspect door and window locks to ensure they are in working order and report any issues to management.
  • Report any room status or maintenance deficiencies to the Executive Housekeeper for prompt resolution.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or similar cleaning standards.
  • The ability to lift up to 50lbs continually throughout an 8-hour shift.
  • Finger, hand, and upper body dexterity to push, pull, and move levers, equipment, and furniture.
  • The ability to work with arms raised above the head throughout an 8-hour shift.
  • Flexibility to maneuver fully loaded maid carts weighing up to 50lbs through hallways and into closets.
