We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Petco Animal Supplies Inc. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional medical care to our patients and delivering outstanding customer service to their owners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist doctors with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia
  • Perform patient restraint, obtain and process laboratory samples, and handle medications
  • Schedule appointments, communicate with clients, and maintain client/patient records
  • Help prepare patients for surgical and dental procedures, assist with anesthesia, and monitor patients during recovery

Requirements:

  • 1 year of experience working in a veterinary practice or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Compassionate and sympathetic attitude, with the ability to maintain a professional demeanor in emotional situations
  • Team player with a willingness to learn new techniques and treatments
