Salon Leader Job Description

The Salon Leader is responsible for ensuring the salon's profitability, guest satisfaction, and creating a professional environment where employees are inspired to do their best.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a culture in the salon that aligns with our values.
  • Build relationships to develop a high-performing team that achieves results.
  • Achieve sales, profit, and expense goals provided by the DL/SDL.
  • Provide quality services, including exceptional client consultations, price quotes, and retail recommendations.
  • Perform new hire orientations and meet or exceed minimum productivity standards.
  • Establish service and sales expectations with each stylist and provide feedback and training.
  • Evaluate employee performance, prevent guest complaints, and document technical adjustments.
  • Monitor wait times, walk-outs, and voids, and work the lease line during downtime.
  • Schedule for business needs, recruit and hire staff, and document important conversations.
  • Effectively communicate with the team, peers, supervisors, and support partners.

Qualifications:

  • Current Cosmetology License in the state.
  • Strong Customer Service and Technical Skills.
  • Ability to coach, lead, and inspire others effectively.
  • Business management skills, including goal setting, scheduling, cash management, and reporting.
  • Leads by example, with outstanding communication skills and a professional appearance.
  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills necessary to read and complete company forms.
  • Ability to travel to work and arrive on time for scheduled shifts.

Physical Requirements:

  • Visual observation of guest's hair, including close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Frequent standing and walking for long periods of time.
  • Continuous exposure to chemicals and fragrances used in performing services and styling hair.
  • Continuous repetitive movement with fingers, hands, wrists, and arms to perform various services.
  • Occasional climbing of ladder/stepstool to stock shelves, retrieve products, and maintain station.
  • Occasional lifting of items up to 50 lbs, including pushing/pulling of styling chair.
