Marine Force Pacific Command Strategic Communication Specialist

As a Marine Force Pacific Command (MARFORPAC) Senior Communication and Strategy Operational Planner, you will be responsible for supporting the MARFORPAC Communication and Strategy Division with deliberate communication planning. This role requires technical leadership and direction to MARFORPAC and subordinate Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) staff personnel in the development, revision, and review of Operational Plans (OPLANS) and Contingency Plans (CONPLANS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist MARFORPAC staff planners in creating strategic and operational communication concepts for new OPLANs/CONPLANs and updating existing plans.
  • Provide recommendations to change planning procedures or ways of conducting planning to MARFORPAC staff and subordinate command staffs.
  • Support higher, adjacent, and supporting headquarters planning to ensure proper employment of USMC COMMSTRAT forces, and review and provide written comments on COMMSTRAT aspects of regional combatant commander and JTF OPLANS/CONPLANS.

Requirements

  • An active TS/SCI clearance is required.
  • A Master's degree is preferred, but 10+ years of operations planning experience at MAJCOM, Combatant Command, or equivalent can be substituted.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Marine Corps Planning Process and the Research, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation (RPIE) public planning process is essential.
  • Experience with C2IE, a DoD system of record for strategic OAI management, and USMC MAGTF Planning is also required.
  • In-depth knowledge of operational planning, communication synchronization, service, and joint doctrine, as well as Marine Corps componency issues, is necessary.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft applications, such as Excel, Teams, Words, Power Point, etc., is required.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the Pacific theater and an understanding of the relationships and general interactions between each nation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal/social skills and exceptional written and verbal communication skills are desired.
  • Masters of Arts or Science degree or higher and 10+ years of relevant experience is preferred.
