Aerial Lineman Job Description

The Aerial Lineman at Socket Telecom is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic lines and systems. This includes operating bucket trucks, heavy equipment, and other machinery to install and maintain fiber cables and lines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and maintain fiber optic lines and systems, including drops and mainline fiber lines.
  • Operate bucket trucks and heavy equipment to access and repair fiber lines.
  • Practice Socket required safety procedures and follow applicable state and local regulations.
  • Assist with pole transfers and aerial construction.
  • Set poles and place anchors.
  • Install and repair fiber cables and wires.
  • Report needs for larger repairs to the appropriate parties.
Requirements:
  • High School/GED/Some College Preferred or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience working with heavy equipment and/or training.
  • Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment and safety standards.
  • Keen attention to detail and situational awareness to maintain the safety of the work environment.
