Pipefitter Specialist

Methuen Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a skilled Pipefitter Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of various piping systems.

• Piping System Installation: Bolt up and alignment of flanged piping systems, installation of gaskets, and layout of various piping systems.
• Piping System Maintenance: Bevel and grove ductile iron and steel pipe, welding of process piping systems, cutting and fabrication of spool pieces, sweating/soldering piping (non-potable water), threading/cutting pipe, glue and assemble plastic piping, cut/fuse and assemble PVDF piping, beveling, cutting, fitting associated with piping prior to welding, and installation of small diameter tubing for instrumentation and controls.
• Piping System Support: Installation of prefabricated or pre-manufactured pipe supports including anchors for same.

• Education and Experience: High School or Vocational and or relevant work experience, minimum of 1-3+ years of experience within the construction industry.
• Skills and Abilities: Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, strong team player with a positive attitude, hard working and motivated, ability to lift 50 pounds, ability to stand for extended periods of time, and safely maneuver around the nearby presence of various construction equipment and vehicles, on an active construction site, prepared to regularly encounter moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and a variety of outside weather conditions, able to climb temporary or permanent stairs, and ladders, able to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, balance, and stoop, reach on a regular basis, specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position with primarily local travel, limited to Northeast jobsite locations, during the business day; with occasional out of state and overnight travel. Less than 20% travel expected.
