Position Summary:

As a vital member of our expanding national One Water team, your expertise in integrated planning will be essential as you engage in hydraulic modeling for potable water, sewer, and recycled water systems. You will be instrumental in identifying potential system enhancements and assessing water resource management strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with technical experts and project teams to enhance our service offerings and support business development across diverse water system projects.
  • Develop traditional and integrated master plans for municipal water utilities.
  • Utilize various hydraulic models to analyze existing challenges, forecast future needs, and propose solutions for planning and design initiatives.
  • Prepare feasibility studies, alternative analyses, and conceptual design documents for infrastructure improvement projects related to water, sewer, and recycled water.
  • Assist in conducting water supply studies and alternative analyses.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior modeling staff and team members.
  • Engage in client relationship development and strategic pursuit activities.
Expectations:
  • Generate comprehensive technical reports and presentations.
  • Conduct modeling and planning for water, wastewater, and reclaimed water distribution systems.
  • Enhance skills in sewer modeling and water resource management.
  • Analyze data using spreadsheets, GIS tools, and other relevant software.
  • Travel periodically to project sites for data collection and client meetings.
  • Develop project management capabilities and contribute to proposal preparation efforts.
  • Deliver presentations at professional meetings with clients and technical teams.
  • Review and provide feedback on modeling and planning work completed by others.
  • Participate in leadership training and contribute to BC's Master Planning and Modeling practice.
  • Take initiative to improve company resources and tools for enhanced quality and efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering; advanced degrees are preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • In-depth knowledge of water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure hydraulics and master planning.
  • Experience in demand and flow projections, including forecasting.
  • Ability to integrate climate change considerations into planning processes.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in hydraulic modeling and planning.
  • Exceptional technical writing and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Familiarity with sewer collection infrastructure modeling is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in advanced modeling software and data management tools is a plus.
