Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Bilingual School Social Worker to join our team at Township High School District 113. The successful candidate will provide essential support services to students, families, and staff, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and consultation to students and families
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support students' social, emotional, and behavioral health
  • Assist administrators and staff in understanding the familial, cultural, and community components of students' responses to instruction, learning, and academic success
  • Assess student learning needs and develop effective plans to support academic growth
  • Educate teachers and parents on effective strategies to manage behavior in school and at home
  • Engage in activities to prevent and manage crises and address issues related to substance abuse
  • Participate in various meetings, including Individual Education Program meetings, 504 review meetings, and parent/student conferences
  • Conduct Social Developmental Histories to determine student eligibility for special education services
Requirements
  • Masters Degree from a graduate school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education
  • 400 hours of field experience supervised by a field instructor holding a master's or higher degree in social work
  • Type 73/Professional Educator License with Social Work endorsement
  • LSW or LCSW preferred
