Position Overview

Omitron Inc. is on the lookout for a Space Operations Evaluator to contribute to the Space Domain Awareness/Command and Control (SDA/C2) mission area. This role is pivotal in supporting the 18th Space Defense Squadron (SDS) Combat Training Flight (CTF), encompassing essential functions such as Training, Weapons and Tactics, and Standardization and Evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of assessment materials and evaluation scenarios tailored to complex orbital analysis software applications.
  • Maintain operational use-cases and collaborate with CTF staff to ensure alignment with operator performance expectations.
  • Serve as a communication bridge among subject matter experts, engineers, and software developers.
  • Become proficient in SDA/C2 applications and assist in various user certification events with USSF personnel.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with CTF to establish positional evaluation standards and certification criteria for specialized skill sets.
  • Utilize space operations expertise to create scenarios that align with unit evaluation objectives.
  • Ensure that evaluation scenarios evolve in accordance with operational procedures, new data sources, and software advancements.
  • Develop and maintain documentation that meets government standards, including certification records for the Standards and Evaluations division.
  • Create reference documentation for software developed in-house and manage a repository of materials for company use.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure accessibility of materials for both government and contractor personnel.
  • Undertake additional Standards and Evaluation responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with at least 4 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with Air Force/Space Force Standards and Evaluations programs, regulations, and methodologies.
  • Over 4 years of direct experience in Space Situational Awareness/Space Domain Awareness (SSA/SDA) operations and technical training development.
  • Exposure to Python, Linux Operating System, and SDA applications such as SPADOC and ASW.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to comprehend complex software applications, including those with intricate mathematical models, without the need to perform advanced calculations.
  • Experience in writing technical documents for Engineers/Orbital Analysts, training manuals, or related materials.

Security Clearance:

Active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
