Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the estimation process for plumbing and fire protection projects. The successful candidate will manage projects from bid preparation to project budgeting, ensuring accurate estimates and timely project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating
  • Identify new project opportunities and attend pre-bid meetings and walkthroughs
  • Review plans, specifications, and bid documents, and procure necessary information for estimates
  • Follow up with general contractors and engineers on budgeting questions and pricing
  • Perform bid layouts, material counts, and prepare totals, and create detailed material take-offs for project systems
  • Procure quotes and subcontractor coordination, and create project estimates and proposals
  • Business Development
  • Attend meetings and interviews with customers and general contractors to present and sell plumbing capabilities
  • Establish and maintain relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners
  • Cross-sell other areas of the business to customers
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years of project estimating experience in the construction industry, including medium to large-scale commercial projects
  • Technical knowledge of plumbing systems and codes, and good technical skills in design and construction
  • Knowledge of construction technology, equipment, methods, estimating, scheduling, and safety
  • Understanding of job financial reports and ability to apply in budgeting awarded projects
  • Ability to read and understand plans and technical specifications, and present oneself as professional and knowledgeable
  • Ability to build new customer relationships and nurture existing ones
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and take-off/estimating software
