Job Title: Home Health Care Provider

About the Job:

Hospice of Huntington is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Care Provider to join our team. As a Home Health Care Provider, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with serious illness.

Job Description:

The Home Health Care Provider performs in-home services that are all non-medical services to individuals who require assistance with daily living activities. This includes providing companionship, assisting with errands and shopping, and supervising home maintenance. The caregiver is expected to interact with the patient and in social settings with high integrity, politeness, respect, and excellent communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate schedule changes, concerns, and care-related issues directly to your supervisor
  • Document care information in accordance with the company documentation system
  • Provide companionship through engaging activities such as playing board games, reading, watching TV, and arts and crafts projects
  • Assist with light housekeeping, including dusting, vacuuming, cleaning kitchen and bathroom, organizing closets, changing linens, laundry, ironing, and sweeping floors
  • Meal planning and preparation, bathing/showering assistance, personal hygiene, and grooming needs such as hair care, shaving, cleaning teeth, and routine nail care
  • Errands and shopping, including grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, taking clients to appointments, dining out, driving to family gatherings, handling dry-cleaning, buying stamps, mailing packages, and attending church services

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Valid driver's license and automobile insurance, with reliable transportation and a clean and smoke-free interior
