Aircraft Hardware Inspector Job Summary

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Hardware Inspector to join our team at GE Aviation. As an Aircraft Hardware Inspector, you will be responsible for performing visual and dimensional inspections of aircraft components, ensuring they meet the required standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of aircraft components to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
  • Verify test setups and perform parts and process verifications using necessary inspection techniques and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections and test results.
  • Direct, train, or instruct others as required to ensure quality and consistency in inspection processes.
  • Quote applicable repairs and maintain knowledge of shop math, precision measuring instruments, and computer applications.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; three or more years of experience in inspection of aircraft hardware preferred.
  • Experience working with computers, applications, and keyboarding; proficiency in shop math, including fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to obtain FAA Repairman's License and experience with 8130 systems; knowledge of machine shop blueprints and engineering sketches.
  • Experience operating various hand and power tools, and basic machining and equipment; ability to perform and troubleshoot minor inspection equipment calibrations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using special gauges, such as Genspec, optical comparator, and articulating arm CMMs.
  • Experience with open setup and CMM inspection; experience working from shop engine manuals, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives.
  • Experience in disposition and quoting parts; experience operating various hand and power tools, and basic machining and equipment.
