Job Description

Enhance Your Nursing Skills

As a Nurse Intern at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment. Our team is committed to providing exceptional patient care, and we are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our Adult IP Admission Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe and direct care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
  • Work within Hospitals and departmental policies to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Implement and document individualized care plans, incorporating age-specific considerations
  • Administer medication and assist with special tests and procedures
  • Maintain a proactive approach to patient safety and report any concerns or near misses

Qualifications:

  • Student in good standing at the University of New Mexico College of Nursing
  • Basic Nursing Skills Course completion
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification

Working Conditions:

  • Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly
  • Limited access to med room; Med Admin Policy, Att A
