Position Summary: The Floor Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of all floor surfaces within the facility. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to perform the following essential duties:

  1. Floor Care: Sweep, dust mop, wet mop, scrub, strip, buff, wax, polish, and maintain all types of flooring using appropriate equipment.
  2. Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain all cleaning equipment after use, ensuring it is in proper working condition and stored correctly.
  3. Reporting: Notify the immediate supervisor regarding any equipment or furniture that requires repair.
  4. Utility Room Management: Keep the utility and custodial areas clean and organized.
  5. General Cleaning: Clean various areas including rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms.
  6. Carpet Maintenance: Maintain carpeted areas through regular cleaning and vacuuming.
  7. Surface Cleaning: Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, frames, door panels, sills, and ledges both inside and outside.
  8. Furniture Movement: Move furniture, equipment, fixtures, and supplies as directed.
  9. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols while performing job duties.
  10. Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands: The role requires the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Candidates must be able to stand, walk, talk, and hear regularly, with occasional requirements to reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Work Environment: Employees may work in minimally wet or humid conditions, near moving mechanical parts, and in outdoor weather conditions.

Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED is required, along with 2 to 4 years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

Reasoning Ability: Candidates should demonstrate the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and solve problems in standardized situations. Flexibility and multitasking skills are essential, along with strong customer service abilities.
