Job Description

**Job Title:** Family Support Specialist

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team at Urban Grow Group. As a Family Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing counseling services to children and families involved in the justice system, with the goal of reducing occurrences of child abuse and neglect.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide psychosocial evaluations and trauma-informed cognitive behavior therapy to families impacted by domestic violence and environmental trauma.
  • Deliver in-home support and behavioral services to families, including crisis intervention and problem-solving in individual sessions.
  • Conduct family assessments to identify strengths and weaknesses, and provide substance abuse treatment and education.
  • Help clients develop coping skills, improve self-awareness, and achieve their treatment goals.
  • Maintain detailed files, case logs, and weekly progress reports on each assigned family.
  • Assist families in improving their relationships and teaching parents how to provide better care, nutrition, hygiene, discipline, protection, instruction, and supervision.
  • Help families discover and gain access to community resources that would assist them in meeting their needs.

**Requirements:**

  • Doctoral Degree in the Human Services field and licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • Provisional licensure or Associate licensure in the state of Georgia with Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT), Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC), or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).
  • 1 or more years of human service experience working with children or adults.
  • Strong clinical, crisis management, de-escalation, and critical thinking skills.
  • Valid Georgia Driver's License with a minimum of 3-year clear driving history.
  • Reliable transportation and professional liability insurance.
  • Successful completion of a background check and 2 professional references.
