Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at Factory Mutual Insurance Company. As an Approvals Engineer, you will be responsible for performing testing and analysis of manufacturers' submitted products to determine conformance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform testing and analysis of products to determine conformance with industry standards
  • Prepare project proposals, including defining the scope of testing and analysis, cost, and estimated timeframe for completion
  • Interpret standards requirements for lab testing and create lab test plans
  • Provide instruction to lab personnel to perform necessary testing
  • Prepare technical reports and effectively communicate test results to clients and management
  • Manage project schedules to ensure deadlines are met
  • Manage a portfolio of customer projects and interface directly with customers

Requirements:

  • BS Electrical Engineering or BS Electro-Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3+ years related experience, preferably in product development or testing of electrical equipment
  • Experience in electrical circuit design or analysis
  • Experience with process and/or industrial control equipment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong managerial, organizational, client-facing, and customer service skills
  • Experience in project/time management and the ability to prioritize job duties and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications

Familiarity with third-party product certification and industry standards such as FM Approvals, CSA, IEC, EN, and UL is desirable.

The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience.
