Testing will be conducted in both laboratory settings and field environments, with a continuous emphasis on process and product enhancement to ensure that the highest quality solutions are delivered efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement rigorous manual and automated testing methodologies within a laboratory context, collaborating closely with both internal and external stakeholders, including end-users.
- Formulate testing strategies and comprehensive procedures to assess the functionality, safety, and accuracy of weapon control systems.
- Create verifiable requirements and documentation that detail testing strategies and procedures aligned with system specifications, as well as oversee test execution.
- Design, develop, and carry out both manual and automated testing strategies and protocols.
- Utilize various testing tools to conduct requirements verification, environmental validation, and system performance assessments.
- Provide support for field deployments and off-site testing initiatives.
- Draft and present test plans, progress updates, and performance results effectively, both verbally and in written formats.
- Participate in the installation and evaluation of systems conducted in various locations.
- Diagnose system issues collaboratively with developers, documenting findings and actions in appropriate records.
- Engage with technical teams through regularly scheduled discussions.
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance.
- A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical field from an accredited institution; or equivalent experience, such as hands-on experience with weapon system applications or military training.
- A minimum of three (3) years of full-time experience demonstrating proficiency in designing, implementing, and executing both manual and automated testing procedures, along with the ability to utilize testing tools for verification and validation.
- At least two (2) years of full-time experience in testing software-intensive Department of Defense weapon systems.
- Proven knowledge of systems engineering and testing practices throughout all stages of the software development lifecycle.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the capacity to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
- Experience in developing testing strategies and detailed procedures based on system requirements, along with test execution.
- Ability to perform verification, validation, performance, and acceptance testing within a rapid development framework.
- Capability to work independently and interact professionally with government agencies, contractors, and military personnel.
- Support for remote testing events.
- Physical ability to walk distances while carrying equipment.
- Pass an FAA class 3 medical examination.
- Complete Hypobaric Chamber training.
- Experience with Linux and UNIX operating systems.
- Familiarity with best practices in Test and Evaluation and rapid development processes.
- Knowledge of Weapon Systems and Command & Control Systems.
- Understanding of the rapid acquisition process.
- Aptitude for working in fast-paced, evolving field environments.
