Our daycare, Eager Explorers, is a licensed establishment focused on nurturing preschool-aged children, emphasizing play-based learning and individual development.
Position Summary: As a Lead Teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational journey of our young learners. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing lesson plans in collaboration with the program director.
- Ensuring a clean and safe learning environment.
- Preparing educational materials and resources for daily activities.
- Organizing classroom displays and storage areas effectively.
- Adhering to all relevant regulations set forth by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.
- Supporting fellow educators in the classroom.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of state regulations affecting daycare operations.
- Encouraging children’s independence and self-help skills.
- Assisting with potty training as necessary.
- Supervising children to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Maintaining appropriate child-to-teacher ratios.
- Communicating regularly with parents and administrative staff.
- Leading a small team of classroom educators.
- Collaborating effectively with colleagues.
- Closing the classroom at the end of the day.
- Participating in and leading required professional development training.
- Engaging in play and activities with children.
Qualifications:
- Strong multitasking abilities.
- Effective listening and observational skills.
- Experience in managing classroom behavior positively.
- Creativity in lesson planning and execution.
- Familiarity with curriculum development resources.
- Minimum educational requirement: Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field; CDA with one year of experience with children under 13, or pursuing an education degree with two years of experience with children under 13.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Compensation: $20 - $24 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.
