Job Title: Special Education Ed Tech I, II or III

MSAD #6 is seeking a Special Education Ed Tech to support students with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing high-quality educational services and a passion for working with students with special needs.

Job Summary:

The Special Education Ed Tech will work under the supervision of a certified special education teacher to provide instructional support to students with special needs. The Ed Tech will assist with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment, as well as provide behavioral support and accommodations as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide instructional support to students with special needs, including assisting with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment.
  • Assist with behavioral support and accommodations, including developing and implementing behavior plans.
  • Work with students, teachers, and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure that students receive the support they need.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in special education.
Requirements:
  • A college degree is preferred, but not required.
  • Applicants must have the appropriate education and provide copies of transcripts and a current Maine Department of Education Ed Tech Authorization and Criminal History Record Check (CHRC).
  • Advancement opportunities available at all levels.
  • BCBA Supervision hours provided for Ed Tech IIIs enrolled in an approved course of study.
