Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to manage chemical inventories, process samples, and maintain accurate records in a laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety and Compliance
    • Work safely in the laboratory, adhering to all safety protocols.
    • Maintain required PPE certification for laboratory and common areas.
    • Attend safety meetings and complete safety training.
    • Maintain GLP qualifications and training records.
  • Sample Management
    • Package samples from bulk containers into smaller aliquots.
    • Accurately label sample containers and process shipping orders.
    • Perform precise weighing and measuring in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Prepare necessary documentation (SDS, Certificate of Analysis, Chain of Custody, warning labels, etc.).
    • Manage a chemical inventory system using electronic LIMBS software.
    • Validate sample inventory at least once per year.
    • Conduct weekly and monthly safety checks.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
    • Familiarity with handling chemical samples, including commercial pesticides, is a plus.
  • Skills
    • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
    • Functional math skills to convert unit types and perform precise measurements.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral formats.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work standing on feet most of the day.
    • Willingness to learn to use a respirator for tasks performed in a walk-in hood.

    • Independent, self-motivated, and able to take direction.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
    • Ability to respond well to changes in priorities and tasks performed.
