Position Summary: Lead TeacherRole Overview
The Lead Teacher plays a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of the classroom at AEA Hutto, ensuring the effective execution of our distinctive preschool curriculum. This position is vital for fostering an educational atmosphere that promotes the social, physical, and intellectual development of children, irrespective of their backgrounds or abilities.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and will be responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly environment for all children. The Lead Teacher will also engage positively with families and collaborate with fellow educators to support the overarching objectives of AEA Hutto. Comprehensive training is provided, with ample opportunities for professional growth within the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Implement the daily schedule and curriculum while effectively communicating in English.
- Maintain detailed observation records and notes for parent-teacher conferences.
- Conduct assessments to monitor developmental progress.
- Model appropriate social behavior and engage actively with children.
- Communicate respectfully and efficiently with families.
- Adhere to safety and security protocols, documenting incidents as necessary.
- Supervise all children, ensuring a secure learning environment.
- Utilize digital tools for attendance and communication with families.
- Ensure a clean and healthy classroom environment.
- Promote positive interactions and respect for diverse backgrounds.
- Prepare necessary materials and curriculum in advance.
- Open and close the classroom daily.
- Assist with meal preparation and promote table manners.
- Participate in accreditation goals and related classroom requirements.
- Engage in ongoing training as required.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Meet state licensing requirements for education and in-service hours.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a licensed child care center is preferred.
- Staff Credential or degree in Early Childhood Education is a plus.
- CPR and First Aid certification is advantageous.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
