POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide assistance with library resources and services in a friendly and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Address patron inquiries via telephone and in-person interactions.
  • Organize library materials and ensure proper shelf arrangement.
  • Manage the check-in and check-out of library materials using an automated system.
  • Receive, categorize, and process incoming delivery items.
  • Prepare items for the Hold Shelf.
  • Redirect circulation materials to other library branches.
  • Register new patrons and issue library cards.
  • Collect fines and fees associated with library services.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • May include tasks such as ordering supplies, processing periodicals, maintaining and cleaning books and audiovisual materials, managing library inventory, and conducting database maintenance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, communicate, and lift materials weighing up to 25 lbs. on a daily basis; occasional sitting may be required; must possess close vision, distant vision, color distinction, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Proficient computer skills, including typing and keyboarding.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with staff and the public.
  • Capability to comprehend and execute instructions.
  • Availability for evening and weekend shifts.

COMPENSATION: Part-Time $15.00 per hour, 24 hours per week.

CLOSING: Position will remain open until filled.
