Position Summary:

The Supply Chain Coordinator plays a vital role within the Supply Chain Management team, tasked with the dual functions of sourcing materials and strategizing inventory to guarantee a consistent supply of components for seamless production.

By employing the Kanban methodology, the Supply Chain Coordinator will enhance inventory management and refine procurement processes.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Establish and uphold an efficient Kanban system to assure material readiness in the production area.
  • Oversee all Kanban documentation and supplier data for precise Kanban assessments. Ensure the production area is effectively triggering Kanban signals and collaborate with team leaders to resolve any issues.
  • Create, evaluate, and oversee purchase orders while nurturing relationships with suppliers to secure timely material deliveries.
  • Partner with production teams to evaluate material requirements, strategize inventory levels, and foresee potential supply chain disruptions.
  • Assess supplier performance, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and performance standards.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of supply chain metrics to identify patterns, forecast requirements, and implement ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Manage inventory levels and analyze stock counts to confirm inventory precision, adjusting Kanban signals as necessary.
  • Address any discrepancies, material shortages, or quality concerns in collaboration with the Quality Assurance and Production teams.
  • Stay updated on market dynamics and emerging trends that may influence material availability and pricing.
  • Collaborate closely with the procurement team to mitigate material-related challenges.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in a buyer/planner capacity within a manufacturing setting, ideally with practical knowledge of Kanban and Lean principles.
  • Proficient understanding of ERP systems and skilled in MS Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities and project management skills.
  • Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or a similar credential is a plus.
