Schedule: Full-Time, Night Shift (11 PM - 7 AM)

Role Summary: The Nursing Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the nursing staff within the assigned unit. This role requires a blend of clinical expertise and leadership skills to ensure the highest standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and supervise unit activities and staff assignments.
  • Demonstrate clinical proficiency aligned with established nursing standards.
  • Identify and respond to patient needs in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and document vital signs, treatments administered, and patient responses.
  • Administer medications and treatments as required.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, residents, families, and medical staff regarding care plans and concerns.
  • Implement disciplinary actions as per company policy.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians and external service providers.
  • Conduct RN assessments following incidents or changes in resident conditions.
  • Lead and manage emergency situations, including fire and elopement protocols.
  • Maintain accurate nursing reports, staffing sheets, and census rosters.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN License in good standing in the State of New York.
  • Experience with geriatric care, short-term rehabilitation, and Alzheimer’s patients is preferred.
  • Progressive nursing and supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Strong commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality care to residents.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and collaborate harmoniously with all staff.
