We're seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Development Leader to join our team as an Oklahoma Regional Mentor. As a mentor, you'll have the opportunity to empower teens in middle and high schools across Southern Oklahoma to make healthier choices for themselves and their families.

Job Summary

The Oklahoma Regional Mentor will be responsible for implementing our innovative wellness club, Teens Make Health Happen, in 1-3 middle or high schools in the Southern Oklahoma Region. You'll work closely with teen wellness leaders and site partners to ensure effective delivery of our programming and collaborate with your Regional Program Manager and other area mentors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Strong Relationships: Collaborate with teen wellness leaders and site partners to ensure effective delivery of HealthCorps' programming.
  • Assess Needs and Progress: Research health inequities faced by schools and measure impact through needs assessments and reporting.
  • Manage Wellness Clubs: Plan and implement successful delivery of the HealthCorps program, including instructional hours and activities.
  • Share and Make Aware: Host Café O Yea demonstrations at each site monthly and contribute to HealthCorps' social media platforms.
  • Commit to HealthCorps Mission: Prioritize health and wellness daily and ensure accessible local health resources for students and staff.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A current undergraduate or graduate college student majoring in public health, public policy, biology, nutrition, marketing, psychology, education, social work, or related fields.
  • In good academic standing with your university.
  • A commitment of 6-8+ hours each week to the mentorship for 1-2 semesters.
  • A self-expectation and strong desire to grow personally and professionally as a leader in the community.

Salary Estimate

$25-$35 per hour, based on experience and location.
