Position Overview

Exceptional Staffing Solutions is seeking a dedicated Direct Care Aide to provide essential support to our elderly clientele. In this role, you will be entrusted with assisting patients in their daily routines, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing the quality of life for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver personalized care under the guidance of licensed nursing professionals.
  • Engage in shift briefings to ensure continuity of care.
  • Implement care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
  • Facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities.
  • Respond to resident inquiries and needs with dignity and respect.
  • Monitor vital signs, including blood pressure and temperature.
  • Maintain a hygienic and welcoming environment for all residents.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare providers.
  • Assist residents in preparing for various activities.
  • Support residents with feeding and personal care tasks.
  • Ensure that care is delivered with respect and dignity.
  • Perform basic nursing tasks as required.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers using safe techniques.
  • Create a safe and comfortable atmosphere for residents.
  • Ensure timely and compassionate food service for residents.
  • Keep accurate records of daily living activities and care provided.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs.
  • Document patient information accurately in electronic health records.
Required Skills
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare practices.
  • Ability to safely administer medications.
  • Experience with feeding and catheter care.
  • Familiarity with senior care principles.
  • Proficient in electronic health record systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Compassionate approach to caregiving.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Experience in a nursing home or senior care environment is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of working with individuals with developmental disabilities is beneficial.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as a Direct Care Aide or Personal Care Aide.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • COVID-19 vaccination.
  • Experience with elderly populations.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Excellent physical endurance.
