Job Summary:

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking an experienced Physical Therapy Assistant Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of Physical Therapy courses to students with diverse academic backgrounds and experiences. The instructor will work closely with faculty and staff to develop and implement curriculum, assess student learning, and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent teaching and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a virtual classroom.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Physical Therapy courses to students in a variety of modalities, including virtual
  • Develop and implement curriculum, assessments, and evaluations that meet program standards
  • Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to promote student learning and success
  • Provide feedback and guidance to students, ensuring they meet program requirements
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and committee work

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy or related field
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant in Virginia
  • Clinical experience as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Experience teaching in a clinical or educational setting
  • Ability to work effectively in a virtual classroom

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy or related field
  • Substantial clinical experience as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Experience with artificial intelligence tools

Work Environment: The work environment for this position is typically a classroom or clinical setting. The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively in a virtual classroom and have access to technology that supports online learning.
