Position Overview:
As a key member of the leadership team at Omnicare, Inc., a subsidiary of CVS Health, the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) is instrumental in ensuring operational excellence and compliance within the pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise pharmacy operations, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and standards.
2. Stay informed on regulatory changes from entities such as the state Board of Pharmacy, DEA, and FDA, collaborating with compliance officers to address any updates.
3. Educate and inform staff on pharmacy-related matters, including compliance issues and drug recalls.
4. Develop and implement quality assurance initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and resolving identified challenges.
5. Oversee the procurement, storage, and security of pharmaceuticals, ensuring all practices align with legal requirements.
6. Maintain accurate records of pharmacist licensure and technician registrations as mandated by state law.
7. Act as a primary resource for internal and external inquiries regarding pharmacy operations.
Qualifications:
- Must hold an active pharmacist license in the state of Nevada.
- Preferred: Minimum of one year in a management role within pharmacy operations and experience in long-term care pharmacy.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Doctorate in Pharmacy.
