Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement food safety and quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential risks and implement corrective actions promptly
- Serve as the primary point of contact for crisis management, developing and executing response plans in the event of a food safety incident
- Foster a strong food safety culture among all staff, providing training and guidance to ensure understanding and adherence to policies
- Collaborate with farm managers and other team members to continuously improve food safety and quality processes
- Report on key performance metrics, trends, and areas for improvement to senior management
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field
- Minimum of 6-10 years of management/supervisor experience in food safety and quality management, preferably in the fresh produce industry
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and inspire a diverse team
- Proven experience in developing and implementing food safety policies and procedures
- Excellent crisis management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, with a requirement to reside near a major airport for efficient travel
- Proficiency in English; Spanish language skills are a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
