The Sanitation Specialist is responsible for executing sanitation tasks related to production and processing machinery. This role emphasizes the importance of safety and meticulous attention to product quality. The individual must adhere to various business systems such as QCDSM, ISO, GMP's, and GSP's while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Shift Options:
2nd shift: 1pm to 9pm
or
3rd shift: 9pm to 5am
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and disassemble production and processing equipment, including valves, pipes, pumps, cook kettles, and other machinery.
- Thoroughly wash and sanitize equipment and its components to ensure a safe and high-quality product.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
- Read and follow detailed sanitation program instructions.
- Handle and utilize cleaning chemicals properly.
- Follow Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols when managing chemicals.
- Implement Good Sanitation Practices (GSP's) during equipment handling.
- Analyze cleaner strengths of soaps and sanitizers used in sanitation processes.
- Report any damaged or worn equipment to a Supervisor or Team Leader.
- Conduct and document quality checks as per company policies and procedures.
- Perform routine sanitation tasks.
- Operate Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems for cleaning circuits, silos, and blenders.
- Complete all required observations and training in a timely manner.
- Be open to cross-training on various sanitation responsibilities.
- Support Plant Quality Systems.
- Carry out any additional duties assigned by the Team Leader, Supervisor, or Manager.
- This position reports directly to the Sanitation Manager.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Comply with Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) requirements, including GMP's and other specific duties.
- Availability for all shifts, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Skills:
Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
Additional Remarks
- Efficient and safe execution of job duties is essential.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.
- Teamwork is crucial in this role.
- Adherence to all company policies and internal procedures is mandatory.
- Flexibility to work extended hours and additional days as needed.
