Job Title: Nurse Practitioner

University of Maryland Eastern Shore invites applications for a full-time Nurse Practitioner position in the Student Health Center. The successful candidate will provide primary health care to students, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide primary care services to university students, including diagnosis and treatment of acute illnesses and injuries, sexual health care, basic gynecological care, and management of stable chronic conditions.
  • Complete and record patient medical histories and physical exams, and establish diagnoses and prescribe medication and/or treatments as indicated.
  • Order and/or perform diagnostic tests and evaluate results, and maintain professional working relationships with co-workers.
  • Maintain current licensure to practice, including timely completion of required continuing medical education, and seek opportunities for ongoing professional development.
  • Maintain organized, complete electronic medical records with regard to content appropriateness and confidentiality.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Graduate from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
  • Two to four years of work experience in a primary care setting, with experience delivering tailored health education and health promotion programs, and working with college-age populations.
  • Experience providing direct medical care in an ambulatory setting with diverse populations, and excellent clinical assessment, diagnostic, and care planning skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Maryland.
  • Current (or eligibility for) DEA and state CDS licensure.
  • Current nurse practitioner certification in a specialty area (family or adult health preferred).
