Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and accomplished mathematician to join our faculty as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Mathematics. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the department's research and teaching mission, with a focus on teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach and develop courses in mathematics, including introductory and advanced courses, as well as courses in specialized areas of mathematics.
- Conduct research in mathematics, with a focus on publishing high-quality research papers and securing external funding.
- Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, including serving as a thesis advisor and committee member.
- Participate in departmental and university service, including serving on committees and contributing to departmental and university-wide initiatives.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related field, conferred by September 1, 2024.
- Strong research and teaching record, with a focus on mathematics education and research.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postdoctoral research experience in mathematics or a related field.
- Experience teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong publication record in mathematics or a related field.
