Overview:

Under the supervision of the Lead Cardiology Technician and the Senior Echocardiograph Technician, the Echocardiograph Technician is responsible for conducting echocardiograms, stress echo tests, and contrast echocardiograms on adult and elderly patients. This role requires adherence to established performance standards and the handling of sensitive patient information in compliance with hospital policies, HIPAA regulations, and ethical guidelines. The technician must report any security incidents or potential risks to the organization and actively participate in patient safety initiatives aligned with the hospital's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute all echocardiography functions, including stress echo, contrast echo, and transesophageal echocardiography.
  • Adapt to staffing needs, scheduling requests, and rotation duties.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as filing, order entry, and patient scheduling.
  • Support quality control and improvement efforts through collaboration with physicians.
  • Initiate and operate all cardiology equipment, ensuring proper preparation and setup.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
