About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Design and Construction Manager to join our team at United Rentals. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for managing the design, planning, construction, maintenance, alteration, and repair of our buildings and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop project scope and manage turnkey delivery of new locations from site selection and negotiation through project management and close out.
  • Manage regional construction projects within budget guidelines and established timeframes, seeking opportunities for cost reductions and efficiencies.
  • Coordinate, supervise, and monitor entitlement and permitting processes to coincide with project scope and management.
  • Ensure all construction projects meet URI facility specifications and branding requirements.
  • Coordinate all ancillary requirements, including safety equipment and security measures.
  • Manage project cost, negotiate vendor bids, and review vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance with budget and payment approval process.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of related experience in commercial construction, managing projects.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Project, Word, Excel) and AutoCAD.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of design and construction techniques and the ability to analyze and evaluate construction bids.
