Job Summary:

As a Registered Nurse at Advocate Health, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care. Your primary responsibility will be to assess the needs of patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate the effectiveness of these plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use the nursing process to assess patient needs and develop care plans.
  • Collaborate with patients and families to plan and implement care.
  • Anticipate and recognize changes in patient condition, status, and need for care.
  • Implement strategies to reduce patient risk and increase patient safety.
  • Provide ongoing evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes.
  • Support shared governance activities and initiatives to improve processes and patient outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Nursing.
  • Typically requires 1 year of LDRP experience in clinical nursing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient computer skills, use of electronic mail and electronic medical records systems.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and work collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to make critical, independent decisions.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance. May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease.
