Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Material Handling Lead to join our team at Staples, Inc. as a 1st Shift Warehouse Operations Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for mentoring and training new material handlers, filling in for supervisors as needed, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our warehouse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mentor and train new material handlers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
  • Fulfill supervisory duties as needed, including overseeing the operation of material handling equipment and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks to move product within the warehouse.
  • Stack empty pallets and maintain a safe and clean workspace.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the warehouse, including adhering to safety procedures and protocols.
Requirements
  • 12+ months related experience in a warehouse environment; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training, education, and experience.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent permissible legally.
  • Ability to lift, push or pull equipment/merchandise weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to walk and stand 100% of the time.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
