About the Role

As a Production Technician - Cement, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and monitoring the efficient operation of all production processes. Under the direction of the Production Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the production line, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise, and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain the efficient operation of all production processes
  • Identify and resolve any issues that may arise during production
  • Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity
  • Collaborate with the Production Coordinator to ensure the smooth operation of the production line
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment
  • Operate various types of equipment, including dump trucks, skid loaders, and forklifts
  • Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the preheater tower
  • Reclaim sand, iron ore, gypsum, and clinker into the process as directed
  • Operate limestone reclaimers to face storage piles and position reclaimers prior to the start of reclaim operation
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Coordinator
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-3 years of experience in production or other plant-related experience preferred
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim-approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders and work in both hot and cold environments
  • Must be able to work in awkward positions for short periods of time
  • Must be able to work in confined areas and elevated platforms (working at heights)
  • Knowledge of the cement manufacturing process and equipment a plus
  • Able to obtain ATF clearance for handling of explosives
  • Read, write, and speak English
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong work standards and attendance record
  • Valid driver's license. Class B or higher CDL is a plus
