About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our ICU department at Veritas Veterinary Partners. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch patient care and support to our critical care patients.

Responsibilities
  • Record and maintain accurate medical records and complete treatments in a timely manner
  • Uphold ICU policies and protocols and perform all other related duties as required
  • Participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and stabilization of critical patients
  • Maintain a clean, dry, and comfortable environment for all patients at all times
  • Continuously monitor critical and intensive care patients
  • Manage sedation and anesthesia in various critical patient settings
  • Place and maintain central, peripheral intravenous, and arterial lines
  • Place and maintain urinary catheters and nasogastric and nasoesophageal tubes
  • Manage thoracostomy, tracheostomy, and other indwelling tubes
  • Administer blood component therapy and all aspects of fluid therapy
  • Calculate and monitor continuous rate infusions
  • Care for mechanically ventilated patients as needed
Requirements
  • Certified technician with a minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting or 5+ years as a technician
  • Team-oriented and motivated self-starter
  • Detail-oriented and sound problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and the veterinary team
  • Empathetic and kind approach to patient care
  • Positive outlook and excellent organizational skills
