Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct structural design and evaluations of buildings, highways, and maritime structures in compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Prepare detailed design calculations, specifications, and drawings for civil and structural engineering projects to be executed by contractors.
  • Review designs and contract documents prepared by external consultants and specialists.
  • Provide structural expertise for the development of designs, specifications, and assessments related to building and civil engineering projects.
  • Ensure that project designs align with the company's asset strategies and plans.
  • Support other engineers in estimating and conducting feasibility studies for new projects and modifications to existing structures.
  • Develop technical guidance to promote the safe ongoing use of the company’s assets.
  • Assist in evaluating the remaining structural life of key assets and collaborate on long-term maintenance strategies.
  • Help manage and implement a comprehensive structural inspection regime, including various types of inspections.
  • Offer technical advice to in-house asset inspectors and act as a representative for structural inspections conducted by third parties.
  • Occasionally perform structural inspections and compile associated reports.

Qualifications and Experience:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A BEng/MEng degree (or equivalent) and be working towards chartered membership with the Institution of Civil Engineers or Structural Engineers.
  • A minimum of 3 years of post-graduation experience in civil and structural engineering design and calculations.
  • Experience in conducting feasibility studies, design assessments, and specifications for civil and structural engineering projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A valid driving license and access to a personal vehicle.
